Regulation of Worker Employment in Qatar Labour Law

The Qatar Labour Law includes several articles that regulate the employment of workers, ensuring their rights and obligations. These provisions aim to achieve a fair balance between employers and workers.

Employment Regulation Provisions:

  1. Priority in Employment: Priority in employment shall be given to Qatari workers, and non-Qatari workers may be employed in case of need.
  2. Periodic Reports: The employer must provide the Labour Department with a periodic report every six months containing details of the workers employed, their nationalities, jobs, wages, and ages.
  3. Job Seeker Registration: The Department shall register Qatari nationals seeking employment and prepare studies on the employment status.
  4. Notifications: The employer must notify the Labour Department of vacant positions and the conditions required for applicants.
