Energy Innovation Lead
Description
Permanent 4 – 5 days/week – negotiable and flexible.
Band 7 – $103,821 – $116,077 (pro rata) + super + RDO (RDO applicable for full time 38 hours per week only)
Lead the energy transition and innovation for our organisation and the wider municipality

We are looking for a passionate and experienced person with great technical skills in the area of the sustainable energy innovation, to join our Sustainability Team. Your skills and experience will ensure our Organisation (Yarra City Council) and the wider municipality, is at the forefront of integrated knowledge, capability and action, to implement innovative sustainable energy solutions to drive down greenhouse gas emissions.
Ideally we are looking for a sustainable energy professional with local government or other relevant experience, a friendly and engaging personality who works collaboratively and loves a challenge.
The Sustainability Unit has the responsibility to provide organisational and community-wide leadership, strategy, and engagement to ensure urgent action on climate change in line with Council’s declaration of a Climate Emergency, our endorsed Climate Emergency Plan, and target for a net zero emissions municipality by 2030 target.
This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to implement strategic thinking, interpersonal skills and technical capability to conceptualise, develop and deploy a wide range of exciting innovative sustainable energy initiatives.
